Anybody know any tricks to cool the cooling ability of a 67 4020 synchro. Having trouble running a 14 ft mower/conditioner, Have lots of power, but gets her running too hot after a while and have to gear down. Gets iffy with the baler too on hotter days, but handles it-gets to cool off on the first half of the bale. Backed the roller pressure way off, which helps quite a bit, but still operating by the temp gauge. Yeah, cleaning rad often. Thought there might be a fan with more blades, or maybe a rad out of a 4320 or something might fit.

Original radiator? Core could be shot or needs new thermostats

Rad was reconditioned about 4 years ago, but you could very well be right. Not sure what all they actually did though. It was leaking a bit at the time, maybe all they fixed, though the bill was enough if I remember right. I am tempted to try a chemical flush if I find the time. Don’t think it’s the thermostat as she cools down as soon as I decrease the load. Problem is under a substantial enough load.
