Is there any way to find a picture of this to confirm what we may have.

I read in the history area and this is the timeline of the item we have.

1863 The company makes the Hawkeye Riding Cultivator, the first Deere implement adapted for riding.

I took pictures of ours yesterday so if I may I can attach or post a picture of what we have.

Linda wanted to know if she had a Hawkeye Riding Cultivator, the first tool made by John Deere with a seat for riding. She wanted to see a photo of it.

John Deere Archives has only one illustration of this machine. It is shown on page 205 of Genuine Value , published published by Deere in 2000.

The same illustration is found on page 7 of John Deere Tractors and Equipment Volume One 1837-1959 appears to be slightly clearer. Over 50,000 of these books have been sold so it should be easy to find one from a John Deere collector.
