Certified by American Society of Agricultural Appraisers I grew up on a northwest Illinois farm operating 2 cyl. tractors and equipment then to 4020’s, 4320’s, 4430’s, and 4630’s. I have collected and restored antique tractors and equipment for the past 20+ years and have a enjoyed every minute. I have around a dozen tractors including a 35 B, 37 G, 52 G, 430W, 435, 620, 730 gas, 730 diesel, 3010 diesel, 2520 gas powershift, and several other colors. I also like equipment and having spent 25 years in the seed business, I have a selection of planters including a Deere & Mansur wooden planter, a 99, a 999, a Deere 290 on steel, a 246/247, and numerous hand planters plus other things like hand shellers, plows, cultivators, etc. Most of the items are either restored or very good original condition.
Approx. 6 years ago I established an Appraisal business under the name of F & H Appraisal. I decided that since I loved the antique business so much and was always talking to fellow collectors that I should become a certified Appraiser of farm equipment and livestock specializing in the antique tractors and equipment. I still enjoy helping several friends on the farm harvesting with the BIG modern machines. I have attended several schools and become certified by the American Society of Agricultural Appraisers.
Experience where it all began.
John Deere has a presence around the world, but it all started right here in Grand Detour, Illinois. When you step foot on these grounds, it will feel like taking a step back in time. Hear the floorboards creak as you walk inside John Deere’s home. Take in the beauty of the picturesque landscape. And feel the heat of fired steel inside the replica blacksmith shop. Whether you’re a school group, a John Deere fan or a history buff, it’s an experience you just can’t miss.
And it’s free for kids 11 and younger. Only $5 for everyone else.
